VALVE
SPRING COATINGS
This
coating is designed to increase the life of the valve spring.
The major enemy of valve springs is heat. This is generated
in two ways. The first is through external friction and the
second is through molecular friction. When a spring operates
it twists. This generates friction where it rides on the head
or cup as well as the retainer. In addition, when running
a multiple spring, heat is generated as the inner and outer
spring rub against each other. This tends to flatten the edges
and it also produces heat.
Our coatings will greatly reduce these problems since they
are high pressure lubricants and will reduce friction. Heat
generated by friction will be greatly reduced due to less
friction. Since the coating thickness is .0005 or less there
is no interference problem. These coatings will leave no residue
in your oil system either.
Thermal
dispersion is an area where we excel. Most other coatings
do not have this quality. If you only use a single coil you
will still generate heat in the spring as it is flexed due
to molecular friction. By using our coatings you will realize
a more even distribution of heat over the spring and more
rapid removal of heat. Most other coatings have the opposite
effect and act as insulators trapping heat inside the coil.
What
this all means is your springs will last longer, not deteriorate,
and power will not fall off due to the springs getting fatigued.
Testing by Peterson Spring of Southfield, Michigan has again
proven our claims as to the effectiveness of our coatings.
Testing on their fatigue cycle machine for valve springs showed
a dramatic improvement in spring life. Stock un-coated springs
were breaking at approximately 100,000 cycles, the same springs
that were coated exceeded 4,000,000 cycles with no problems.
A detailed test report will be available in the near future,
